Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Finly ("the app") is a personal income and expense tracker developed by Curamet and published on Google Play under Pluto Inc. This policy applies to Finly 1.0.1 and later. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use it.

The short version

Finly does not have user accounts, does not have a server that stores your financial data, and does not share, sell, or transmit your information to anyone — including us. Everything you enter stays in a private database on your own device.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, receive, or have access to any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials — there is no sign-up or login
  • The transactions, accounts, categories, or currencies you record in the app
  • Analytics, usage statistics, or behavioral tracking data
  • Advertising identifiers — Finly shows no ads and contains no ad SDKs
  • Crash reports or diagnostic logs sent to us or to any third party

How your data is stored

All information you add to Finly — accounts, categories, currencies, and transactions — is stored in a local database file on your device only. It never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it yourself using the app's built-in Backup & Export feature (as a JSON or CSV file that you choose where to save or share). Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes the local database. Files you exported remain in your chosen destination until you delete them separately.

Automatic Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled in Finly 1.0.1 and later. Earlier test versions may have participated in Android system backup; existing backups are managed through your device and Google Account settings.

Exported JSON and CSV files are not encrypted by Finly. If you save an exported file to a cloud provider, that provider handles it under its own privacy policy. Choose a destination you trust.

Permissions the app requests

The Android app requests a small number of system permissions. Here's what each one is actually for:

  • Network state / Internet: reserved by the app framework for basic connectivity checks. Finly's core features — adding transactions, viewing your dashboard, managing accounts and categories — work fully offline and never send your data over the network.
  • Document picker: used only when you choose to import or export a backup. Finly does not request broad storage access, location, contacts, camera, or microphone access.

Children's privacy

Finly is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. Finly does not collect personal information from any user.

Your choices and control

Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in full control of it:

  • Export a full backup at any time from Backup & Export (JSON or CSV)
  • Delete any transaction, category, account, or currency directly within the app
  • Remove all data permanently by uninstalling the app

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Finly adds an optional cloud-sync or backup feature — we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above before that feature ships.
